We are friends who share a love of boating~~Doug, Margie, Ginnie, Torben & Chester (our 5 year old Havanese, pictured in Ginnie's lap) on Main Attraction, a 56 foot Navigator, and Margi & Doug on Bowhaus, a 36 foot Grand Banks. From mid-May through mid-August 2016, we are embarking on the longest cruise of our life times. This is the summer of our Grand Alaskan Adventure. We've been planning for months and now we are ready!

It's Chester's Cruise Too

Chester--the best boat dog ever.  And he's been feeling left out of this blog so he wants to let you know what he's been up to these past few weeks.

I enjoy hanging out on the boat and especially like waiting on the bow for Doug and Margi to raft their boat alongside of ours when we are at anchor.  Margi brings me a treat as soon as they are securely tied on to us.

I go on hikes and find strange creatures in the woods and on the beach. The docks can have lots of good smells and discoveries too.  I was told to leave the little green sea urchins that came out of our crab pot alone.

Sometimes it's dry and sunny and sometimes I get wet.  Then my mom puts me in the sink in the galley for a warm bath and blow dry (which I hate)

Laps are great.  Doesn't matter if it's friend, family or stranger.  Laps are simply great.

When a lap isn't available, this is my place in the main salon of our boat.  And that's my blankie too.  It goes with me everywhere and was a gift from Aunt Laurie.

Sometimes I get to go on shore leave in the Dinghy. I'm not quite sure why my dad rings the bear bell so often.  Oh well.  When shore leave isn't an option, I have to use the pee pad on the aft deck.  I've gotten pretty good at that but I much prefer the shore.

When we are underway, I spend my time in the pilot station like this.  There's something about the purr of diesel engines that puts a dog to sleep.

My parents say we are headed home but I've forgotten what or where home is. I live in the moment and that means the boat is my home for now.
