Margi writes, "After a 5 hour calm and picturesque cruise we arrived in Petersburg. To get there we went through Wrangell Narrows, an interesting waterway where the tidal currents run from both ends and meet somewhere in the north end. It has a reputation for being a bit tricky but overall it was a very interesting 20+ mile body of water with over 60 navigation markers. Petersburg is a real fishing town with Norwegian roots. Many of the fishing boats in the marina, which are mostly family owned and operated, were getting reading for tomorrow's opening day for salmon. For us, deciding where to go to eat dinner was not a difficult decision as there were two options and one was closed on Sunday."

We passed the Alaska Ferry, Matinuska, heading south as we entered the Narrows northbound
This vessel came up fast and passed us to our port in a narrow section
